We are aware that, following a recent Windows update, some users with integrated graphics (laptops) have been experiencing an “unexpected error” message and application shutdown. We are working on a fix, but in the meantime, normal functionality can be achieved by either installing with the “Use software rendering” option ticked, or by:

  1. Going to the installation directory e.g.:

    C:\Program Files\LimitState\RING4.2\bin
  2. Renaming opengl32sw.dll to opengl32.dll

  3. Starting the software

Notes

The LimitState:RING MacOS Beta version is supplied with the following known issues:

  • Command line calls must be made from the folder containing the .RING source file(s).

  • Flexible (USB dongle) licenses are not supported.

  • Academic licensing over WiFi must be undertaken with MAC randomization disabled.
