Prof. Matthew Gilbert : Managing Director & LimitState:RING Product Manager
Matthew Gilbert is a chartered civil engineer with a longstanding interest in limit state analysis and design methods, and also in the behaviour of masonry arch bridges (he originated the successful RING masonry arch analysis software, now used in over 40 countries worldwide). He co-developed the novel DLO technique used in LimitState:GEO and is a current member of the editorial advisory panel of the Institution of Civil Engineers' Engineering and Computational Mechanics journal.

Dr Colin Smith : Director & LimitState:GEO Product Manager
Colin Smith is a geotechnical engineer who holds MA and PhD degrees in engineering from the University of Cambridge. As well as pushing forward the development of LimitState:GEO, he is a senior lecturer in geotechnical engineering at the University of Sheffield and currently secretary to the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering Technical Committee TC205 'Limit State Design'. He also sits on TC250/SC7 Eurocode 7 Evolution Group 4 ‘Numerical Models’ and has been a past member of the editorial advisory panel of the highly regarded Géotechnique journal. He co-developed the novel DLO technique used in LimitState:GEO.

Dr Wael Darwich : Senior Software Developer
Wael Darwich rejoined LimitState in 2012, after two years teaching at YPU, Syria. He played an important role in developing the first versions of LimitState:RING and LimitState:GEO, and has also led the development of other engineering software packages for various clients.

Following a 30 year career in the special steel and oil/gas industries, Jim Goulding has helped facilitate the development of a number of new companies - until recently he worked as a Business Development Manager at Sheffield University Enterprises Ltd.

Barry Skinner : Director
Barry Skinner is the founder and a Director of Bestech Systems Ltd, a company providing software, training and consultancy services to the civil engineering industry. Founded in 1991, Bestech Systems are a leading supplier of bridge engineering software in the UK.

Dr Andy Tyas : Technical Consultant
Andy Tyas co-developed the layout optimization procedures underpinning LimitState:GEO and other planned software products. Formerly a structural designer at Eastwood and Partners, he is currently MD of Blastech Ltd and he also lectures in structural engineering at the University of Sheffield.

Dr Sam Clarke : Technical Consultant
Sam Clarke joined LimitState in 2009. He has experience of developing and applying a variety of numerical models to geotechnical engineering problems. He worked for a brief period with Arup Geotechnics, London, and now lectures at the University of Sheffield.
